Overseer General

The Overseer Archetype is a green archetype based around growing everything - including your opponent. Most overseer cards have absurd stats and stat increases which are balanced by also giving stat increases, card draw, or icons to the opponent. If used properly, the Overseers can beat the opponent with their high power and health. It's important for both the opponent and the player to keep it stable otherwise it will affect them in the long run.

Everything must grow and grow unchecked. All you have to do is grow faster.

Pros:

  • Large midrange potential; good stat/icon ratio.
  • Great amount of helpful AoE buffs, even to your non-Overseers. Overseers gain the most out of their effects.
  • Variety of effects as well, not just buffs.

Cons:

  • Most positive effects the Overseers give also affect the opponent; the enemy can use it against the Overseers
  • Weak against control decks; does not do well in late-game.
  • Overseer's effects do not harm the opponent at all.

TRIVIA

Before Overseers had their rework, Overseers focused on giving debuffs to non-Overseers and give buffs to Overseers, similar to the Ninja Archetype today. However, unlike the Ninja Archetype, Overseers was more controlling than aggro and also gave icons (back) when played.

The Overseers had two overpowered cards. One is Eye of Overseer, who was an 800/50 that debuffs non-Overseers by 200 power and gained 2 green icons. This card can stop armies with ease and was used in a very large variety of decks, such as monored. To put this into perspective, Zolerus has the effect of Eye of Overseer, and costs 6 white, 3 green.

The other card was Overseer Prophet, who dealt 300 damage to all non-overseers and had a good statline. This was also played in a large variety of decks.

When these two cards got replaced by Zolerus and MekaX, the Overseer archetype completely fell. The Overseers had a rework, introducing the Overseer's new playstyle we know today. That has flopped, as most of the fighters were too weak against the other controlling archetypes. Then, another change was made, making Overseers a midrange-like archetype. The idea was a success, having many players of Blox Cards use it to this day.

The only card unchanged from that update was Overseer General.
